Program Highlights

The Discovering Mind Meditation Teacher Training program (MTT) is an in-depth year-long online course on the theory and practice of meditation. The course is presented in a systematic and progressive approach. While based on the traditional philosophy and practices of Tibetan Buddhism and Hatha Yoga, the course includes modern research and evidence-based approaches.


This comprehensive experiential program includes 12 months of weekly classroom sessions and guided meditations, with an additional six months to complete all course requirements. There are several breaks between semesters and for holiday periods.


  • 108 classroom contact hours via Zoom
  • Two class sessions per week will be live-streamed via Zoom so you can participate from the comfort of your own home.  
  • All classes will be recorded for viewing at your convenience.  
  • The main weekday class presents the new material for the week in an experiential learning format. 
  • An experiential weekend class offers guided meditations which focus on the weekly course material and provide time for Q&A, discussion, and student-led meditations.
  • Guest speakers will present special topics.
  • Non-contact course requirements include: 30 minutes of daily meditation practice, keeping a meditation journal, community teaching, creating guided meditation videos, required readings, quizzes, a final exam, final class project and final student teaching
  • Hundreds of pages of written course material including syllabus, course notes, step-by-step instructions for all practices, guided meditation scripts, meditation reminders, glossary of terms, key metaphors, special topics materials, and visual aids.
  • Extensive list of required and recommended readings
  • Private WhatsApp messaging group
  • Upon completion of all course requirements, students receive a certificate of completion.
  • Qualifies for Yoga Alliance continuing education units
